...So, my laptop died on me. This would not be so bad, since I got a new one recently, if not for the fact that all of my writing was lost. This includes my novel, all of my short stories, and pretty much everything I was working on. The computer tech that my dad sent my old laptop to said that the entire harddrive was burned up in the crash and that none of my work could be salvaged. I am seriously miffed, pissed, distraught, and otherwise completely torn up by the whole thing. It wasn't enough that my brother accidentally deleted the original files on his [my old] computer - now my stupid laptop ate all of the wonderful progress I'd made! Thankfully, the revised prologue and first chapter of my novel have been published to the Internet, but everything else is beyond my reach now. I'm still having difficulty wrapping my brain around the fact that all of that time and effort I spent on my writing has gone completely to waste. Computers hate me.

I finally emerged from my writer's block, and was able to get writing on my novel! I started it back in November for NaNoWriMo, but I didn't want to just scrap it when December rolled around, so I decided to keep at it. For the longest time, I wasn't able to think of how to go about a certain part, but I had a beautiful epiphany while trying to take a nap, so I literally sprung out of bed and shouted, "THAT'S IT!" and got to writing.
As of right now, I'm on a roll with chapter two. My passion and excitement for TKR has been renewed! Thank you, O, Writing Gods! You have shown me that I am not an utter failure! [/Worships]

In my last entry, I talked about visiting an old friend of mine whom I haven't seen in around four years. We had a great time. <3 Seth took me out for sushi as a belated birthday gift, and we literallly hung out at the restaurant eating sushi for two hours. We got a platter for two and pretty much caught up while eating a piece of sushi between stories. It was a nice restaurant, but it was casual. Our waiter probably thought we were on a date. XD The California rolls were delicious, and I ate sashimi for the first time.
When we were finished with the sushi, we went to the library in order to borrow a copy of RENT, only to find that they had closed a half-hour ago. D: So, we drove to Mariner Point Park, only to find that there were no parking spaces except for vehicles with trailers. >< After leaving MPP, we went back to his house and helped his aunt with yard work while singing songs from RENT. [This is a pastime for us - we would always sing RENT in PE class in high school and annoy the hell out of everyone.]
After that, we watched Another Gay Sequel with her three rats, Ryo [aka My Favorite], Luna, and Jade. My Favorite is a hopper/climber, and she kept climbing up me and crawling in circles around my neck. She was also the only one who'd let me hold her, hence "My Favorite". [That came about when she first climbed on me. I said to her, "You're my favorite."] We sat on Seth's bed with the rats until they got tired. Then we put them bag in the SuperCage and finished the movie. Of course, we talked through the whole thing. When the movie ended, it started to storm, so I had to go home, but it was a fun day. We're planning on getting together again next weekend.
Oh, and in unrelated news, I shaved my head! <3

I swear, there's little that beats catching up with an old friend. Tomorrow, I'm going to visit my friend Seth - we haven't seen each other in three years or more. After he graduated high school, we saw less of each other, and after I moved away, we saw each other not at all. We lost contact, but recently began talking again. We made plans to get together tomorrow at his parents' house and watch a movie. I also get to meet his friends Jude and Brendan, of whom I've heard good things. Needless to say, I'm extremely excited! <3

So, my dad likes to yell. He likes to yell at me. He likes to yell at me even though his problems are with someone else. Am I the only one who finds something wrong with this? I mean, seriously. It' s so aggravating! It's a wonder I'm not some crazy delinquent child or something! He yells at me for not having a job, even though my mom told me that I had to wait until summer. I'm in the wrong for listening to a rule my other parent set down? He knew that Mom told me to wait, and yet he decides to berate me for not having a job! And that's just the tip of the f***ing iceberg.
[/Sigh] I just don't get it.

So, I figured I'd put this Artician thing to good use, and use it as an excuse to get my ass back in gear on a project I've been procrastinating on. Maybe now I'll get chapter two of WiS finished. I've been working on it for...gosh, years, now, but I can't seem to get into Ailith's character after a certain point. Maybe I won't work in order... I seem to identify with Llyr best so far, so maybe I'll write more of his chapters. But then, by the time I'm finished, I'll probably have changed my mind altogether.
Ahh, woe is me. [/Bawww]
